The Fashionista of 2009!

With the holidays over and the New Year coming up, it’s time to reassess your wardrobe and prepare to WOW! with a new style for 2009.
Money may be tight, but there’s no reason why you can’t look fabulous on a budget. There are some great designer knockoffs and celebrity inspired jewelry out there – including the Tiffany inspired heart tag bracelet and the palm tree necklace.
On the celebrity front, bangle bracelets and cuff bracelets seem to be a good trend. Watch your favorite stars and divas – Kate Hudson, Katie Holmes, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton – as they strut the red carpets flashing their bling. On a budget, you can steal the look with any sterling silver jewelry and cubic zirconia jewelry.
What I really think is going to be big for 2009 is personalization. Celebrity moms seem to be showing off some piece of jewelry that celebrates their new offspring, like Nicole Richie and her “H” initial necklace.
Pandora bracelets and Pandora necklaces seem to also be a growing trend – you can customize by selecting beads and charms that are significant to you. Pandora is bit expensive, but there are plenty of Pandora compatible beads and charms if you’re tight with the wallet.
Another great way for personalization is with engravable jewelry. Engravable dog tags have always been an on-again, off-again fad but you can also engrave silver rings and titanium rings (which is a really big hit for wedding bands).
And of course, there’s always the Carrie necklace – a trend that has yet to die. Having your name carved in gold or silver seems to be a hot way to showcase your style, and there are plenty of nameplate necklaces to choose from, so make sure you find the one that showboats who you are.
Big things will happen in 2009, so make sure you look hot and stylish! And don’t worry about that wallet - there are plenty of online jewelry stores that want you to stay glamorous!

2009 People’s Choice Awards

Who actually pays attention to the People’s Choice Awards, anyways? And is anyone really going to watch the Critic’s Choice tomorrow?
Not one of the most hyped up events, the PCAs was lacking in many departments…ratings being one of them, I’m sure.
But being Hollywood, the world must know who graced the red carpet and what they were wearing. Brad and Angelina were missing, but I’m sure they will be gorgeous at the Golden Globes this weekend.
Of the stars and starlets who did show, many were stunning per usual.
My top picks for the evening were Olivia Wilde from House and Carrie Underwood (who I think wore more outfits then the number of awards Christian Bale accepted for Dark Knight). Olivia Wilde’s grecian-like look was elegant and sexy. It’s amazing how one can look with a flowing white dress and gold cuff bracelet. And of course, Carrie is always stunning on the red carpet with her metallic lace Naeem Khan gown and peridot drop earrings.
Though she didn’t make it as one of my top picks, I will have to give a nod to Dakota Fanning. I’m not quite sure the metallic blue of her dress was good with her complexion, but she did look stylish for the event. This is another young starlet who will be interesting to watch as she continues to mature.
I’m looking forward to what styles appear at the Golden Globes this weekend….

Everything Perry!

I absolutely LOVE Katie Perry!
I don’t know if it’s her adventurous sense of fashion or the fact that she can wear just about any style from any time period and have the personality to make it work. But the girl is just cool! Who else could perform in a fruit basket and make it look hot?
Hands down, the pink Basil Soda dress that Katie wore on the red carpet for the 2009 Grammy Awards was simply stunning. Definitely an honorable tribute to Marylin Monroe, Katie completed the look with a lot of sparkling jewelry. Her sparkling diamond tennis bracelets, cocktail ring, and diamond dangling earrings all accented her old-Hollywood-style look, complete with shiny finger-wave locks.
But I’m not sure who changes their outfits the most at an awards show - Katie Perry or Carrie Underwood?

The 2009 Golden Globe Awards

Another week, another award show. This week’s show held a little more clout that some of the other though. The Golden Globe Awards are considered one of the biggest award shows around. This years show held to that montra. With presenters such as Pierce Brosnan, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Johnny Depp and Don Cheadle this show was right up there with the others.
The big winner for movies was ”Slumdog Millionaire”. It took home the awards for: Best Picture; Drama, Best Director (Danny Boyle), Best Screenplay and Best Original Score. Other winners included: Best Supporting Actor; Heath Ledger (Dark Knight) and Best Actor in a Drama; Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler).
On the Television side ”30 Rock…” continued it’s run at the top bagging 3 honors and the HBO Miniseries “John Adams” brought home 4 awards.
All the celebrities were out rocking their low cut dresses and beautiful silver jewelry। Overall it was considered a very successful award show and we can’t wait for the next one!
